Christian McGuire

- Law Clerk to the Hon. Edith Jones, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
- J.D., University of Chicago Law School

Christian is an extraordinary asset to MBS’s civil, white-collar, and appellate litigation teams. As a former judicial clerk at both the trial and appellate levels, Christian has navigated hundreds of civil or criminal cases from complaint through appeal. He now wields that experience on behalf of clients. He is especially gifted at discerning which issues are most important in a case, identifying weak spots in an opponent’s superficially strong positions, writing strong arguments that explain complex concepts in intuitive ways, and acting swiftly to protect clients’ best interests.
During law school, Christian was research assistant to Professor Richard Epstein, worked on appeals in the office of the Oklahoma Solicitor General, and interned for the Hon. James D. Blacklock on the Supreme Court of Texas. Before law school, he was a communications associate for the Mercatus Center in Arlington, Virginia, where he wrote articles on topics including the First Amendment, housing reform, and the Federal Reserve. Christian has also volunteered as a catechist in various Roman Catholic dioceses, teaching religious education to youth and adults.
